An adaptive cycling program, specifically designed to assist people with disabilities. Join us for lessons with recreation therapists trained in adaptive cycling techniques and skills. There will be a small group to allow for individual set-up, supervision and assistance with the adaptive cycling equipment. No experience is required. Come check out our cycling equipment and see what works best for you!

 

2016 Cycling Lessons

Monadnock Bike Adventures

Enjoy the colors and beauty of Fall while riding a cycle in a safe and social atmosphere. Come and experience a group ride for beginners and experienced cyclists in and around the Monadnock Region. Cycles, support and assistance provided, as needed, for optimal success and enjoyment. See fall in a new and exciting way.

3-day Session 

  • Tuesdays, September 6, 13, 20 from 10:00am - 12:00pm
  • Tuesdays, September 6, 13, 20 from 12:30pm - 2:30pm

Cost: $150 for the 3-day session

Where: Area bike paths and/or scenic roads of the Monadnock region.

 

Lessons for Student in the School

Lessons will be offered on the following days and times:

  • Thursdays, September 14, 22, 29 from 10:00am - 12:00pm
  • Thursdays, September 15, 22, 29 from 12:30pm - 2:30pm
  • Wednesdays, September 14, 21, 28 from 10:00am - 12:00pm if needed

 

We will work with the school to arrange the best time for your child with regards to their school and therapy schedule.

  
Participants will learn
  • A variety of adaptive cycling equipment - tricycles, recumbent tricycles, handcycles and more - allowing people of all abilities the opportunity to participate.
  • Bike safety - rules of the road, hand signals, etc.

 

Each course provides
  • All adaptive and safety equipment (ie: adaptive cycles, helmets, flags, etc).
  • Cycles that can be linked together allowing active participation with a partner for increased safety.
  • Small group number (maximum 5 participants in the group) to allow for individual set-up, supervision and assistance with the adaptive cycling equipment by staff and volunteers trained on the adaptive equipment.

 

What to bring to each session
  • Water
  • Snack
  • Forms - liability release form and participant profile (if not turned in yet)
