An adaptive cycling program, specifically designed to assist people with disabilities. Join us for lessons with recreation therapists trained in adaptive cycling techniques and skills. There will be a small group to allow for individual set-up, supervision and assistance with the adaptive cycling equipment. No experience is required. Come check out our cycling equipment and see what works best for you!

 

2017 Cycling Lessons

Introduction to Adaptive Cycling

Feel the thrill of the ride and the wind in your face on an adaptive cycle. We offer a variety of options from recumbents and handcycles to trikes and tandems. Come find the best bike that works for you.

Single cycling lesson 

  • Sunday, May 7 from 1pm - 3pm
  • Saturday, June 24 from 10am - 12pm

Cost: $45 per lesson

Where: Peterborough Bike Path - Summer Street

 

Spring Fling Rides

Enjoy the beauty of spring while riding a cycle in a safe and social atmosphere. For new or beginner cyclists who want to increase their experience and improve physical fitness levels.

3-day Session 

  • Thursdays, May 18, 25, June 1 from 12:30pm - 2:30pm

Cost: $120 for the 3-day session

Where: Crotched Mountain Campus & Nature Trail

 

Monadnock Bike Adventures

Come and experience a group ride in and around the Monadnock Region. Support and assistance provided, as needed, for optimal success and enjoyment. See spring in a new and exciting way.

3-day Session 

  • Wednesdays, May 10, 17, 24 from 10:00am - 12:00pm or 12:30pm - 2:30pm
  • Fridays, June 9, 16, 23 from 10:00am - 12:00pm or 12:30pm - 2:30pm

Cost: $150 for the 3-day session

Where: Area bike paths and/or scenic roads of the Monadnock region.

 

Nashua Area Bike Adventures

Come and experience a group ride in and around the Nashua area. Support and assistance provided, as needed, for optimal success and enjoyment. See spring in a new and exciting way.

3-day Session 

  • Wednesdays, June 7, 14, 21 from 10:00am - 12:00pm or 12:30pm - 2:30pm

Cost: $150 for the 3-day session

Where: Nashua area trails and parks

 

Lessons for Student in the School

Lessons will be offered on the following days and times:

  • Tuesdays, May 16, 23, 30 from 10:00am - 12:00pm
  • Tuesdays, May 16, 23, 30 from 12:30pm - 2:30pm
  • Thursdays, May 18, 25, June 2 from 10:00am - 12:00pm if needed

 

We will work with the school to arrange the best time for your child with regards to their school and therapy schedule.

  
Participants will learn
  • A variety of adaptive cycling equipment - tricycles, recumbent tricycles, handcycles and more - allowing people of all abilities the opportunity to participate.
  • Bike safety - rules of the road, hand signals, etc.

 

Each course provides
  • All adaptive and safety equipment (ie: adaptive cycles, helmets, flags, etc).
  • Cycles that can be linked together allowing active participation with a partner for increased safety.
  • Small group number (maximum 5 participants in the group) to allow for individual set-up, supervision and assistance with the adaptive cycling equipment by staff and volunteers trained on the adaptive equipment.

 

What to bring to each session
  • Water
  • Snack
  • Forms - liability release form and participant profile (if not turned in yet)
