Community Access Means Community Success – Celebrating the ADA

Crotched Mountain Foundation is proud to support the 32nd anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) today. On July 26 every year, we celebrate this important civil rights law that works to ensure all people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

The ADA became law in 1990 and prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

“At Crotched Mountain Foundation, we know that accessibility in the community is critical to the success of the people we serve,” says Kara Nickulas, Executive Director of Community Services for Crotched Mountain. “On the anniversary of the ADA we are especially grateful for all the progress that has helped children and adults with disabilities achieve maximum independence.”
