A Note from Ned Olney, President and CEO of Crotched Mountain

At Crotched Mountain Foundation, we often help people with disabilities negotiate change and uncertainty. Presently, there’s a lot going on in the news these days. The potential changes to the social safety net programs, being discussed in Washington, now are bigger than ever before.

As always, we focus on the best way to support the needs of people with disabilities. Our mission, and our decades of impact, continues because we work hard to adapt to their changing needs. Now with change happening in Washington and in Concord, budgets and services that provide support to our most vulnerable friends and neighbors will likely be reduced.

Every day, we hear concerns from our community regarding the services we provide for them, as they are dependent upon government funding. People living with disabilities have some of the lowest incomes in our communities.

Not only do we help them remain independent in their homes, saving taxpayers from paying for Nursing Home placements, but they also receive other government supports including SNAP benefits, disability benefits, as well as heat and rental subsidies. Low income people living with disabilities are very worried.

On behalf of the staff, leadership, and Board of Crotched Mountain Foundation, I want to assure you that we will do everything possible to continue providing the vital supports that our community depends upon.

Best,

Ned Olney
President and CEO, Crotched Mountain Foundation
