CMF Kids, Crotched Mountain Foundation’s partnership initiative that supports New Hampshire communities serving children with disabilities from disadvantaged circumstances, has unveiled a new round of three-year investments, totaling $1,000,000.
CMF Kids announces four new school partners: Nashua, Manchester, Warren, and Newport. The four school investments are as follows:
Nashua: For special education professional development programs focused on evidenced-based, trauma-informed care to be used by elementary school teachers and paraprofessionals throughout the Nashua district to help reduce challenging student behaviors.
Manchester: For adaptive outdoor playground equipment, professional development, and indoor educational games to improve and increase the physical movement options for students with disabilities.
Warren: Provided to Warren French Pond School for an infrastructure expansion to serve more Special Education students, adding a classroom, two bathrooms, an accessible entrance, as well as specialized staff training in autism and other complex disabilities.
Newport: For special education consultation to help the Newport district examine opportunities for an alternative learning program that would serve students with disabilities,
In addition, CMF Kids is partnering with a variety of community programs that offer services such as: music therapy, accessible recreation and sports, adaptive aquatics, and more. These awards are designed to help children with disabilities access extracurricular activities necessary for learning.
