On Saturday, April 23, a group of volunteers from the University of New Hampshire took to Crotched Mountain’s accessible trails in Greenfield for a day of hard work. The purpose? To clean the trails and prepare them for another season of use by outdoor adventurers of all abilities.
These trails represent one of the largest accessible trail systems in the country, whch snake through over 1,200 acres of permanently protected forest, open fields of wild blueberry and heather, and sprawling wetlands. Users are rewarded with beautiful vistas and stunning views.
“We are so grateful to the incredible volunteers from UNH who gave of their time and effort to clean the trails and prepare them so that people living with disabilities can enjoy them for another season of outdoor adventure,” said Ned Olney, President and CEO of Crotched Mountain Foundation.
