Crotched Mountain Foundation is pleased to announce the CMF Kids 2023-2026 Special Education Anchor Partnership Awards, totaling up to $300,000 over three years to support special education initiatives in three selected school districts.

Crotched Mountain Foundation invited 19 eligible school districts to submit proposals for consideration of Special Education Anchor Partnership Awards. Partnership awardees will be announced in late June 2023.

CMF Kids aims to elevate and build the capacity of community-based special education programming, with a focus on supporting schools in economically-disadvantaged communities within Coos, Cheshire, Grafton, Hillsborough, and Sullivan counties. CMF Kids funds initiatives that develop sustainable special education programs and services to foster inclusive education and improved student achievement.

In 2022, CMF Kids launched three-year special education partnerships with Berlin, Lisbon, Littleton, Milan, Northumberland, Stratford and Stark, and White Mountain Regional School Districts.

Current school district partner initiatives are focused on the following outcomes:

  • Projects aimed at infrastructure, equipment, and technologies that advance special education classroom instruction, learning, and play environments
  • Learning opportunities such as vocational training and community work placements that prepare students for competitive employment, and transitional support services that foster students’ successful transition to adulthood
  • Programs that improve school culture and lead to better rates of inclusion for children with disabilities, and activities that engage more families in special education services and the IEP process
  • Professional development activities that focus on cultivating stronger workforces to meet the needs of children with disabilities
